Description

Since losing my job in finance in early 2009, I decided to work with a developer to create a website to supplement my income. I have worked with a developer for over 6 months bringing this project from concept to a fully functioning website with over 60 subscribers. Thankfully, I was able to find a job this week and no longer have the time to commit to marketing this website. I am looking for a legitimate owner to take this one over. I am practically selling the website at cost, the price reflects very close to what I spent on the developer to produce this quality website. I will only entertain serious offers, if it doesn�t sell for what I believe it�s worth I will continue to develop this project on my own. This is completely a TURN KEY operation. All you need to do is market and watch the money roll in.

How it all came about

I noticed many webmasters (such as my roommate who runs a real estate site) needed a much better way to monitor their site status versus staying up all hours of the day and checking on the site. Hence we have alertx.com. I wanted to build something that was so overly simple to use yet very effective in doing what it does. Finally after months of planning, developing and designing I have a completely 100% stable web application that really is second to none out there.

What it does

Put in the most easily to understand terms; it monitors whether your website is currently viewable or not viewable by the public. In other words, if your site is not viewable the application sends you an email with a notification informing you that your site is not currently viewable. A lot of people depend on their website to generate up to 100% of their income and cannot always be monitoring their site so they need a little help to do so. The long term value of this product is more than what we currently charge.

Other companies do offer this service but typically it is entirely too expensive to use or is a standalone application you must install on your server. I have developed an application that can be run from the web without requiring you to install any software on the server at an affordable price.

There is also an advanced admin dashboard to view current subscriptions, manage user accounts, suspend and delete accounts and more.

[**UPDATE**] The developer has updated the site with automated emailing capabilities - emails go out every 15 min, 30 min, 6 hours, half day and daily (depending on the subscriber's preference) regardless of whether the subscribers site is up or down to increase exposure to ads on my site.

The developer is also implementing subscription renewal emails to go out when subscribers are a month from their expiration date. [**UPDATE**]

How it generates revenue

Alertx.com is a subscription based service that offers potential customers a subscription plan based upon their needs so most revenue is generated from this model. In addition to this, Alertx.com offers a free account (user can only monitor 1 website) where ads are displayed so some revenue is generated from that. What it takes to run the site

Will need to set up a credit card merchant or google checkout account to receive payments from new subscribers. I am not a developer so I can not make changes myself. If needed, I can refer you to my developer but highly recommend you to use one that you know. While you are welcome to run the platform from my server account, I also recommend you create your own and migrate the platform and domains to an account under your name so you have complete ownership and access to everything. Once established the site is on auto pilot, only additional marketing would be necessary.

Terms of sale

The site is being sold in working condition and is fully functional. I do not imply nor guarantee success although the potential is certainly there. Please note that the Buy It Now price reflects what I invested in the site. I wouldn't be making even twenty dollars on the sale of this site. If I do not get a reasonable offer, I will continue to run the site to turn a profit before I consider selling again.
