BUSINESS SUMMARY

Mama & Baby Essentials began in 2005 (as Mommy and Me Essentials) with a few special products and has grown in just a few years to include a large collection of unique and hard-to-find gifts for new mothers and babies. Over 90% of our products are invented by moms or made by moms.

In May of 2007 the company went through a name change to the current Mama and Baby Essentials. Some traffic was lost and that is why I turned to new SE optimization in December of 2007.

Items that are personalized are shipped directly from the designer which keeps in-stock inventory to a minimum.

SE optimization/marketing was done on the site in December 2007 and the amount of visitors has been increasing. The website also offers a Live Help feature for assisting customers. New products and updates can be easily entered and maintained without knowing an HTML code.

Hosting is $10 per month and the virtual terminal for accepting credit card payments is $30 per month. These are the only two expenses related to running this business other than advertising, marketing, etc.

At the current time, there is just over $3,000 (about $3500 wholesale) in inventory. This will be sold with the business but could possibly decrease in total by the end of the auction/sale.

The reason for the sale is that I'm deeply involved in another business and no longer have the time to dedicate to this venture.

Revenue Details:

Revenue is obtained by online sales of new mother gifts, baby shower gifts and hard-to-find baby essentials.

For 01/01-12/31/2007 the total sales were $22, 493.24. Expenses were accounting fees, legal (name change), computer upgrades (new processor), sales tax, utilities, auto expense (oil changes), licensing (city/county), marketing/SE optimization and fees which are credit card and eBay related. Some of these are expenses I chose to let the business pay for tax reasons. I have not been taking a "paycheck" but a check for repayment of the loan that the business owes me personally for inventory, etc.

The net income shows as $2,593 but I do not believe that is a true number because they are not regular expenses. If you are familiar with SE optimization or any marketing techniques you can do those things on your own.
